PT Medco Power Indonesia, along with its subsidiaries, is embarking on a comprehensive transformation program to enhance business competitiveness and sustainability in the face of the evolving challenges of the electricity industry.
As part of the initiative, a Leaders Forum was held on July 21, bringing together department leaders and selected change agents from the Head Office (HQ) and subsidiaries. These individuals were selectively chosen as the driving force in this transformation process.
The forum was opened by Imron Gazali, Medco Power’s Chief Operating Officer and designated Chief Transformation Officer, who emphasized that transformation is an important step that needs to be carried out together. In his presentation, he highlighted the importance of synergy between units and the commitment of all parties to implement the changes consistently and comprehensively.
Over the past years, Medco Power has faced significant financial performance pressure, including declining profits, increasing operational costs, and delays in projects. This condition underline the urgency for transformation – no longer an option, but a necessity – to ensure the company’s future sustainability and resilience.
This transformation program is focused on critical areas: restructuring the HQ’s structure and roles, simplifying work processes, strengthening project management, and optimizing costs. This transformation is expected to reinforce the internal foundation to achieve the target capacity of 5,000 MW and a net profit of USD 100 million by 2030.
The series of transformation steps have been arranged in phases, starting from initiative design, the appointment of a Program Team, Change Agents, and a Transformation Management Office (TMO), to the launch of various communication programs and other activities at both the HQ and subsidiaries. Each step is monitored with a reporting system, discussion forums, and feedback sessions to ensure the direction of change is consistent across all work units.
As another key element, this transformation also positions all employees as an important part of the change process. Through competency development, upskilling, and reskilling programs, the company is committed to creating an organization that is not only excellent in its processes but also strong in its work culture and collaboration.
