Jakarta, 25 July 2024 – PT Medco Power Indonesia, through its subsidiary PT Medco Cahaya Geothermal (MCG), hosted the Contractor Forum 2024 at Soehanna Hall, The Energy Building last week. This event served as a significant platform for contractors collaborating with MCG, the Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) developer located in Blawan, Ijen, East Java. Currently, MCG has completed the exploration drilling phase and is completing the construction phase of Unit 1.
The forum featured several key topics, including Contractor Safety Management System, Supply Chain Management and Monitoring System, Business Ethics and Compliance Requirements, and Social Media Guidelines. These presentations were delivered by experts from each respective field, offering contractors valuable insights and practical guidance.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Femi Sastrena, President Director of MCG, highlighted the crucial role of renewable energy, particularly geothermal energy, as a cornerstone of project development at Medco Power.
Mr. Sahat Simangunsong, Coordinator of Geothermal Engineering and Environment at the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources underscored the importance of safety and regulatory compliance in geothermal project implementation, advising contractors to adhere to safety protocols and obtain necessary permits.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where leaders and contractor representatives engaged in discussions. The participants enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to voice their questions and concerns.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Eka Satria, President Director of PT Medco Power Indonesia, expressed his gratitude and shared his expectations with the contractors: “I hope the contractors can carry out their work with high quality and punctuality. I also remind everyone that this forum is a means of communication; please feel free to provide suggestions and constructive feedback for our mutual benefit.”
