Medco Power Indonesia continues to play a vital role in advancing Indonesia’s energy goals, as its President Director, Bapak Eka Satria, was officially elected Chairman of the Indonesian Independent Power Producers Association (APLSI) for the 2025 – 2029 term. His appointment was announced during the APLSI National Conference (Munas) held in Jakarta recently, marking a new chapter of leadership in the independent power sector.

Bapak Eka succeeds Arthur Simatupang and will lead APLSI’s efforts to strengthen the role of private power producers in supporting the nation’s energy transition. Meanwhile, Bobby Gafur Umar was also appointed as Chairman of the APLSI Supervisory Board.

APLSI represents private companies in the electricity and renewable energy sectors, with a total power generation capacity of approximately 15.5 GW equivalent to 20% of the country’s installed capacity.

In his inaugural speech, Bapak Eka Satria emphasized the importance of private sector collaboration in supporting national electricity development. Under his leadership, APLSI will focus on:

  • Promoting national energy independence,
  • Supporting the implementation of PT PLN’s 2025–2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL),
  • Advocating for the Electricity Bill (RUU Ketenagalistrikan), and
  • Contributing to President-elect Prabowo’s vision of achieving fair and equitable energy self-sufficiency.

APLSI also reaffirmed its commitment to contribute to 71% of the total targeted installed capacity of 69.5 GW in PLN’s RUPTL aiming to build an electricity system that is affordable, reliable, and sustainable.

The 2025 APLSI National Conference carried the theme: “Synergistic Collaboration to Support a Sustainable Transition in National Electricity Development.” The event was attended by 29 active APLSI members and several key figures in the energy sector, including Aryo Djojohadikusumo, member of APLSI’s Advisory Board representing Arsari Renewable Energy.
