MedcoEnergi continues to demonstrate its commitment to a sustainable energy transition with the commencement of operations of a 25MWp Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Plant located in Karangasem, East Bali. This strategic project is managed by Medco Power Indonesia, through PT Medcosolar Bali Timur.
Developed in collaboration with Solar Philippines, the plant will supply clean electricity to the local grid under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with PT PLN (Persero). The facility is expected to generate approximately 50 GWh of clean energy annually, enough to meet the electricity needs of over 42,000 households while helping to avoid more than 800,000 tons of CO₂ emissions over its operational life.
“The integration of the East Bali Solar PV Plant into the local grid will enhance energy supply reliability while supporting the sustainability of local communities and economic activities in the region,” said Bapak Eka Satria, President Director & CEO of Medco Power.
Echoing this statement, Bapak Roberto Lorato, Director & CEO of MedcoEnergi, stated “This project is part of MedcoEnergi’s long-term strategy to diversify our energy portfolio and invest in low-carbon solutions. We believe the growth of renewable energy will drive progress that delivers environmental, social, and economic value for Indonesia.”
This milestone marks MedcoEnergi’s continued dedication to supporting national emission reduction goals and fostering a cleaner, more inclusive energy future.
