Geothermal in Indonesia
Ijen Geothermal Power Plant officially entered its Commercial Operation Date (COD) phase on February 7, 2025, with an initial capacity of 35 MW out of a total planned capacity of 110 MW. As the first geothermal power facility in East Java, the electricity generated is supplied to the Java grid under a 30-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
The project is supported by 83 transmission towers and a 150 kV transmission line, which is expected to enhance the stability of the Java-Bali power system and supply electricity to approximately 85,000 households
