Jakarta, 24 March 2022 – PT Medco Power Indonesia (Medco Power) through its subsidiary, PT Medco Solar Bali Timur and PT Medco Solar Bali Barat joint venture with Solar Philippines, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a Solar PV 2×25 MWp Power facility in Bali.
The PPA was signed with PT PLN (Persero) in the ‘Strategic Cooperation Towards Carbon Neutral in 2060’ forum in Yogyakarta, as part of several initiatives to support energy transition and Indonesia’s G20 Presidency. The signing was witnessed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the CEO of PT PLN (Persero).
Eka Satria, President Director of Medco Power, said, “Medco Power has commited to continue developing renewable-based power generation. We will complete our Solar PV development in Sumbawa in April 2022, and we are developing other renewable projects including a geothermal development in Ijen, East Java, and a Solar PV project in Pulau Bulan”.
Roberto Lorato, MedcoEnergi CEO, said “I am very pleased with the signing of this Bali Solar PV PPA, as part of our climate change strategy to expand our renewable power portfolio and to reach Net Zero for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2050 and Scope 3 by 2060 inline the Government’s energy transition program”.
