Jakarta, September 18, 2024 – Medco Power Indonesia has been awarded the Samosir PSP-E (Assignment of Geothermal Preliminary Survey and Exploration) by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Located in North Sumatra, Samosir PSP-E is estimated to have a potentialgeothermal capacity of up to 40 MW and strategically positioned near the Sumatra grid. The award was presented during the 10th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition, attended by President Joko Widodo.
“This award aligns with our commitment to providing clean energy solutions with attractive rates of return” said Eka Satria, President Director of Medco Power. “We aim to increase our renewable energy mix to at least 30% by 2030.”
