Sentul, 21 December 2023 – In order to accelerate the development of Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle Ecosystem, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) collaborates with PT Medco Power Indonesia (Medco Power) to carry out a collaboration program to convert Oil Fueled Motorbike into Electric Motorbike Conversion. The handover of electric motorbike for Medco Power’s employee representatives was attended by the representatives of MEMR, Medco Power and Bintang Racing Team Workshop.
This program is one of the efforts of the MEMR to collaborate with corporate sector, through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, by which Medco Power supports MEMR in carrying out the conversion of electric motorbike in Bali and Jabodetabek.
The Expert of MEMR – Sripeni Inten Cahyani stated “This Conversion Program, it is not only to reduce carbon emissions and increase national energy security due to oil-fuel savings, but also have a positive effect on empowering domestic industries as circular economy and domestic transactions will be grown. Therein lies the difference between the conversion of oil-fueled motorbike into electric motorbike and the purchase of new electric motorbike”.
Femi Sastrena, Director of Medco Power stated “this CSR program is not only consistent with Medco Power’s business activities that focus on generating clean and renewable electricity, but also in line with Medco Power’s commitment to accelerate the energy transition one of which through the conversion of oil-fueled vehicles into electric vehicles as implemented gradually and sustainably within operating areas of Medco Power since 2022”
