Jakarta, 2 May 2024, PT Medco Power Indonesia (Medco Power), through its subsidiary PT Energi Listrik Batam (ELB), won the Regional Electricity Company With Excellent Service award in the Energy Supply Chain Company from Majalah Listrik Indonesia. This event, held to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Majalah Listrik Indonesia, was an appreciation event for companies that contributing to the progress of electricity and energy in Indonesia.
The event was opened by the Director General of New Energy, Renewables and Energy Conservation, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Eniya Listiani Dewi, who in her speech expressed her hope that the electricity players could contribute actively in supporting the energy transition program in Indonesia.
ELB, Independent Power Producer, owned PLTG Tanjung Uncang – Batam with a capacity of 70 MW, supplies all the electricity produced to PT PLN Batam and is currently carrying out the construction of a 39 MW Add-On Combined Cycle Power Plant which utilizes waste gas heat from existing gas-fired power plant units to generate more efficient electricity to the Batam Bintan grid. This is also effort carried out by ELB in energy conservation. This award to ELB was given as an appreciation for ELB’s consistency in acting as a stabilizer for the Batam Bintan grid through Island Mode Operation since 2015.
Femi Satrena, Commercial and Business Development Director of Medco Power stated, ”This Award will increase our motivation in developing the clean energy sector for Indonesia and consistently supporting the energy transition program as launched by the Government”.
