PT Medco Power Indonesia through its subsidiary, PT Medco Ratch Power Riau (MRPR) won the Top CSR Award from Top Business Magazine at Raffles Hotel – Jakarta on 29 May 2024. MRPR is awarded for the Top CSR with a star-4 rating for the implementation of CSR activity carried out in the area where the plant operates. MRPR, a joint venture owned by PT Medco Power Indonesia and Ratch Group, operates a Combined Cycle Power Plant (Riau CCPP) with capacity of 275 MW located in Tenayan – Pekanbaru, Riau Province. Riau CCPP began its commercial operation date in February 2022.
The Award was received directly by Tony Indriyanto as Board of Commissioner of MRPR in the awarding ceremony which was witnessed directly by the Director General of Pollution Control and Environmental Damage of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry-Mr. Sigit Reliantoro. This award reflects MRPR’s consistency in carrying out CSR activity around its operational area since the inception of the project, construction period until today.
MRPR carries out its CSR activity including empowering local communities, such as training on palm oil crafts, biofloc-based catfish cultivation, tree planting education, training on micro small business financial management and vocational training to improve the competitiveness of local workers for basic electrical, basic mechanical and rigging materials. In terms of infrastructure, MRPR has carried out renovations of elementary schools and the construction of clean water facilities at 8 Junior High School, Tualang located near gas pipelines, as well as the construction of bridges for local community access. In addition, MRPR also consistently provides donations in the form of sacrificial animals and participation in the activity of its stakeholders.
Imron Gazali, President Director of MRPR stated “This Award is certainly an instrumental motivation for MRPR to always be consistent in carrying out CSR activity that provides the mutual benefit for MRPR and its stakeholders, particularly for surrounding community. It is also a support for achievement of the company target in a more responsible and sustainable way in line with the energy transition program launched by Medco Energi Group and the government”.
