Medco Power Indonesia, through Medco Cahaya Geothermal (MCG), conducted a community health check for residents of Curah Macan Hamlet, Kalianyar Village, Ijen District, at the end of 2025.
This initiative, part of the Medco Sehat program, was conducted in collaboration with the local health center (Puskesmas), as a form of synergy in supporting the well-being of communities surrounding the Ijen Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP Ijen).
A total of 76 residents, mostly elderly, participated in the health check, held at SDN 3 Kalianyar. The location provided easier access for residents who often face transportation challenges when seeking healthcare services. The services included cholesterol, blood sugar, and uric acid tests, as well as medication based on examination results. In addition, the MCG medical team and local healthcare workers, offers education on healthy eating habits, regular physical activity, and the prevention of non-communicable diseases.
Residents expressed appreciation for the program, noting that it provided convenient access to essential healthcare services to the Curah Macan community. Bapak Novianto, General Manager of PT MCG, emphasized that this activity forms part of the company’s contribution to surrounding communities.
“We aim to ensure that the presence of PT MCG brings tangible benefits to nearby residents—not only through our operational activities but also through relevant social support. By providing healthcare services closer to the community, especially for the elderly who often face transportation barriers, we hope this program can help residents maintain their health,” he said.
Through this initiative, Medco Power Indonesia reinforce its commitment to carrying out sustainable social responsibility efforts, particularly in the health sector, while continuing to build constructive relationships with local communities in the Ijen area.
